Not exactly the spit swapping I wanted but beggers can't be choosers), he snarks to her and calls her sweetheart, jokes that he wants to mess with her. Cameron is no slouch, though. She one-ups him with the diagnosis while at the same time reminding him that the inspector will own his ass. It's so nice seeing them back in the office and bantering. It was uplifting, really.

summary: As much as I hate this season, I do love how comfortably snarky Cam is with House now. It doesn't feel as forced as it felt in S3. House thinks the patient is impotent, but Cameron chimes in from her desk that he's probably wrong. House pretends to be annoyed but you can tell he's glad she's there. Not even in a romantic sense, just in general. He seems happy with Foreman and Cameron back in the office together. Anyway, House notes that they needs to test him to be sure and then he looks at Cameron. She notes that she isn't going to show him her boobs. He snarks to her and to Hadley. Cameron snarks back about his porn stash.

summary: House smirks when Cameron offers a good diagnosis as she's getting him to sign his paperwork. He tells her she wants to be back working with him. She denies it but it's kind of obvious. He keeps ribbing her about coming back. He tells her he'd fire 13 if she wanted her job back. She basically says no, and he says he was bluffing but it's obvious he wasn't. He soo wants her back.

summary: The best scene. House notes how Cameron was the one to come to the rescue of the paperwork again. He deduces that she misses him. She notes that it's he who misses her. She admits that she misses the job, the puzzles. House tells her that he'll seriously fire 13 if she wants her job back. Cameron tells him that she doesn't miss him. The way she says it is very resolute and real. So many times we get the sense that Cameron says things to save face, but I think House realizes here that she's not lying... she really doesn't miss him anymore. And the look on his face when she leaves is priceless. It's like the first time he realizes that he doesn't have Cameron's crush on him to keep his ego intact. I think he's taken her feelings for him for granted, as if she'd always be there, which is why he could blow it off as an annoyance previously. Now he's realized it's not there anymore and that she really is gone.
