why i love it. Okay, so Houseketeer wrote possibly my favorite House fics of all time, so when I heard she'd written one with another of my fav authors, NaiveEve, I knew it would be good. But I have to admit when I heard the premise, I thought it would be kind of corny. I mean, Cameron on a cyber cam? House chatting online? But seriously, you've got to read this. I hold my head in shame for ever doubting in their evil powers. It's one of the hottest, steamiest sex romps I've read in the HC fandom. If you can suspend your disbelief, you'll love this. The hottest part? "Are we going bare?" ::Kate's head explodes::

why i love it. I love jealous!House and I absolutely LOVE how we see him progressively get deeper in love with her, realizing his own stupidity. I also love that there wasn't any big angst, which is a road that this fic easily could have gone down. It was kept light and there was this feeling of relief when we realize Cameron was absolutely innocent. In fact, you sort of feel guilty right along with House because you realize what Cameron was doing. Cameron was written exceptionally well. I loved how in love with him she was... I just get gooey thinking about how much she loves him in this fic. It's great. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer.

why i love it. I love this fic. First of all, baby/kid fic is always a favorite but this one is really wonderful because of how sad-- and perfect-- it is to see how much House regrets how he's treated Cameron and their child. It's really heartbreaking to watch him try to pick up the pieces of his life and I found myself anxiously anticipating each new chapter, hoping it would turn out the way I wanted... and it does. Special note: Read the sequel, 'Salvation' found in the angst section.

The story is more about House coming to terms with being a father than his interaction with Cameron, but you see how much he really loves them both and I think that's always great.

why i love it. I hate that, canonically, House's relationship with Stacy remains this "perfect" thing that Cameron can't live up to. I hate that the writers never wrapped it up enough to let him have something in his life that could be better. So I loved how Jovsg managed to make House confront his past feelings for Stacy while also realizing how much he really loves Cameron. I also loved that Stacy wasn't turned into the bad guy. One of the best lines here is when House tells her, "Maybe I didn't do right by you." Stacy isn't evil... she really did love him and he made life miserable for her. But she's not perfect and she doesn't have to be "the one" of his life. He can move on and find something just as good, if not better, because he's changed as a person from who he was with Stacy.

Keep your crappy story-arcs-that-never-ever-ever-go-anywhere but at least give us moments like this to tell us why it's worth it!

summary. So the Lab!Smut series has many parts, and I suggest you read them all because they're freakin' great. But each story is really a standalone and each deals with House and Cameron getting caught gettin' it on by various people in the hospital. This part is my absolute favorite of the whole series.
why i love it. For this: "When he breathed in, her breath going down into his lungs, he felt a telltale tingle right in the back of his throat. He hadn't exactly had truckloads of women in his life, but he'd had enough to know what that feeling in his throat meant. 'She's ovulating,' he thought, and that knowledge seemed to drive the part of him that was cold, logical, and civilized, down even deeper inside of him." Seriously? My ovaries just exploded. That's what I love about Starhawk's fics... she totally gets the caveman!House, instinctual, biological-is-sexy thing that women like me absolutely love.

No, I don't see this ever happening on the show, but it's great all the same.

why i love it. The characterization is spot-on. I love how easy they transition into their relationship. So many fics go like 15 chapters of them pining for each other before finally making a move, and then it's like pulling teeth and angsty and someone always backpeddles to make it more dramatic. UGH! This one just has a great flow. It manages to keep the ever-present 'House questions if the relationship would ever work' thing that happens in so many fics, without dragging it on for so long it becomes annoying. It's actually kind of fun here. The House-Wilson scenes are fantastic and Cameron is great.
