JENNIFER MORRISON | FLOURISH

Jennifer plays Gabrielle, an insane former babysitter who's giving her 'testimony' about what happened to the girl she was babysitting. Funny but strange, I liked how Gabrielle kept slaughtering the English language by creating her own 'brilliant' words for things. I wasn't hugely impressed with the movie and I thought some of the acting was horrible. It was trying a little too hard to be 'indie'...you know? But it was still interesting enough to watch. I liked the end of the movie quite a bit. I've also included the main Flourish theme song, which Jennifer sings on, as an mp3. It's basically just her humming, but it's creepy and cool, so there ya go.

This clip picks up as Gabby tells the questioner that she never found Lucy after searching for her. Gabby explains to the questioner that she knows what was in the letter.

» The big ending
size: 70MB
length: 10min42sec
summary: Gabby finds the letter in the street just before she finds her roommate in the trunk of her car. Gabby tells the questioner she has the letter, which the police have been looking for. We find out that in the envelope was the death certificate of Adam, Lucy's brother and Gabby former boyfriend, and that Lucy probably killed herself after finding out her brother was dead. He died in the Army. We also find out here how everyone in the movie is connected. A moment later, in the big ending, we realize that almost everything Gabby has said has been made up to make the story sound more interesting. In fact, Carter, one of the characters in her story looks exactly like the questioner (interestingly, I didn't pick up this through the whole movie. Doh!). The questioner is not a police officer... he's a psychologist. We realize that Gabby isn't being questioned in a police station... she's a patient in a hospital for the insane. Gabby lost her mind after the car accident where she had major head trauma and frontal lobe damage, causing her to 'fill in' gaps in her memory. Whatever she doesn't remember honestly she makes up and those details are usually made overimportant. She doesn't intend to do it... she can't help it. Gabby overhears the doctors talking about her and realizes she made up a lot of what she said. We also get the impression that Gabby didn't kill Lucy at all... it was most likely Lucy's boyfriend. But because so much of what Gabby said probably wasn't true, we don't know the real reasons behind her murder.
